Online safety
Being online presents lots of great opportunities for children, from supporting them with school work to communicating with friends and family.
However, being online can also come with numerous risks. At home is where your child will spend most of their time online, so it is vital for you to know how to help keep them safe.
Our computing curriculum offers full coverage of the KS1 and KS2 Computing curriculum and each year group has a dedicated online safety unit to address the challenges and risks faced by primary school pupils growing up in an increasingly online world.
The documents below show you how we have mapped out the online safety units in both our computing and PSHE lessons to make sure there are many opportunities to teach children about being safe online. The parent guide below also offers parents and carers guidance on how to keep children safe at home using social media and the internet.
Every Wednesday, we post a weekly update on Classroom Dojo about #wakeupwednesday, sharing key information and top tips to support keeping children safe online!
If you are ever in doubt, please come and speak to a member of the senior leadership team, and we will be happy to give you any guidance.
